I continually try to use my innate positive outlook as I teach, yet also aim to convey a childlike readiness to discover and learn. My hope is for this to establish a safe learning environment by inviting students to open up and participate more fully. Full, enthusiastic participation is critical to a successful music program. I also use this positive energy as a focusing tool, to dissolve distractions and keep the focus on learning. I enjoy looking at the world in new ways. Channeling learning through students' interests is my platform for innovative teaching. I enjoy developing curriculum that is to be experienced through varying senses or through non-conventional perspectives.
